START FISHING The DVD and the Booklet introductions to Coarse fishing
These have been produced to try to answer all those questions the beginner asks about starting to fish. They are full of diagrams and film of all aspects of fishing – from the fishing environment and fishing equipment to rod licence, baits and fish species seen underwater. On the DVD many helpful diagrams are contained in the extra chapter at the end of the main film. Both the DVD and the Booklet will be useful to anyone helping the beginner.
KINGFISHER POOL
I am also Chairman of the Junior Angling Committee of Warwick and District. This is a volunteer group dedicated to providing facilities and instruction for the young and also the disabled in Warwickshire at Kingfisher Pool, which was built from scratch. It is an interesting story and might inspire others to seek funding for their own projects. I am happy to provide whatever information and help I can.
EDUCATION AND ANGLING RESOURCES
Angling is now recognised in many schools as providing unique learning opportunities and is being taken up as part of the curriculum. Having visual material that will help in lessons and in Course Work can be a great help. I have put together over 200 pictures and diagrams that I have produced over the years and I have presented them as a collection of jpegs which can be copied or reproduced. This Resources Pack is not intended as part of a structured course, but would be helpful to anyone studying for NVQ or for a similar qualification. I would be happy to help any school setting up such a course or an out- of- school activity club.
